Who We Are

In October 2017 the Youth Ag-Summit brought together 100 young leaders aged 18 to 25 to Brussels, Belgium to inspire and connect the next generation of young leaders in agriculture and related disciplines. The forum created an open dialogue on one of the world’s biggest challenges: How do we feed a growing population in a sustainable manner? Bayer put up a prize of 10,000 Euros for the most innovative solution and Agrikua was awarded the prize money.

The visionaries of AgriKUA are a dynamic team of eight forward-thinking and compassionate Agvocates, majority of whom are students from 8 different countries: Kenya, Tanzania, India, Colombia, El Savador, Canada, Ireland and Denmark. This global connection poses a unique strength to the project for the diversity in connections, experiences, expertise and viewpoints the team brings on board.  The team is also acting as role models for their peers and potential beneficiaries of the project whom they wish to influence to make a tangible contribution to ending Hunger by 2030.

We at Agrikua want to address the problems faced by women in agriculture by developing an innovative model. Our vision is to create an online global platform that connects various stakeholders in the food and agricultural development environment. We have limited the initial phase of the project to be launched in Kenya.
